TSUNAMI of 25 March 2007 (Vanuatu)

A major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 occurred at 0040 UTC 25 March 2007 and was located near the Vanuatu Islands (20.666°S, 169.426°E, 35km depth - USGS location).

The earthquake produced a tsunami that was recorded at Port Vila, Vanuatu and at Honiara, in the Solomon Islands (both stations operated by the National Tidal Facility of the Flinders University of South Australia). Wave heights are maximum peak-to-trough height in cm. Arrival time is the actual tsunami arrival time in UTC on gages where it could be determined. The ETA is the estimated time of arrival computed at the National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC) based on the origin time and location. The Sample Interval column shows the time between samples.
